QUICK AND EASY
Trim EZ mouldings take less than 20
minutes to install.
How to install Trim eZ products
Store the moulding at room temperature on a flat
surface prior to installation. To prevent splitting, make sure the
material is not bend too tightly. 24 hours before installation, place
moulding in the room in which it will be installed. This will prevent
the material from expanding or contracting after installation and will
give the moulding optional flexibility, making it easy to handle.
Pre-determine placement and layout of moulding
prior to fastening moulding into place. We recommend construction
adhesive, in addition to nails or screws, to accommodate the flexible
nature of the material.
With these precautions in mind, when installing
polymer moulding, treat it just as if it were wood. Pieces can be cut,
drilled, and screwed just like wood. We recommend the use of trim head
drywall screws as fasteners. Do not drive nails into the edge of the
material, but rather, approximately in the center.
Trim eZ can be installed indoors or outdoors. All
moulds come of white color.
FINISHING
Several factors affect how and when to apply
finishing to your mouldings.
It is best to apply finish after the mouldings are
installed. Painting flexible moulding prior to installation is not
recommended.
STAINING OR PAINTING
Prior to staining or painting, clean the material
with solvent or soap and water if needed. You also may wish to use a
scrap piece of moulding to see how the moulding will look after
installation by applying a coating of your finish. Priming is usually
not required. Just apply finish according to package directions.
Staining will work best if you wipe off any excess
finish, especially in all deep grooves on the moulding surface.
FINISHING TIPS
During our last project, we found lacquer primer
and vinyl sealer worked very well…”
“We trimmed our Sun Room and used Bin primer
(alcohol base) and acrylic paint and it bonded to the moulding
wonderfully…”
“In all the rooms we trimmed, we used Trim eZ
mouldings and used the same paint for the house that we used for the
casing. We always used acrylic primer and latex (water based) paint. We
were very satisfied…’
